What's different from Xero payroll

On beta, Optiq Payroll is the active engine. Xero integration is gated off. The Payroll section in the sidebar has new pages:

  • Pay runs β€” full lifecycle, including a 4-step new pay run wizard
  • Pay items β€” CRUD plus a Xero import helper (useful for getting going quickly)
  • Super funds β€” manage your super fund list directly in Optiq
  • STP submissions + EOFY finalisation β€” scaffolding for STP Phase 2 reporting
  • Payroll settings β€” replaces the previous placeholder page

Creating a pay run

  1. Click New pay run on the Pay runs page.
  2. Step 1 β€” Period: pick the cycle and the period dates.
  3. Step 2 β€” Staff: review who's included; toggle individual staff if needed.
  4. Step 3 β€” Preview: read the warnings card carefully. Anything that would error in processing surfaces here.
  5. Step 4 β€” Done: confirm and the run processes.

STP submissions

The Ozedi STP adapter is shipped dormant on beta. To activate it requires setting optiq.stp.provider=ozedi and adding credentials β€” not something a beta user does, but useful context.
